A+ Content Modules & Building Blocks

Last updated: February 3, 2025

What are A+ Content modules? Definition and function

A+ Content modules, also referred to as A+ Content building blocks, are the individual design elements you use to assemble your A+ Content on Amazon. Each module serves a specific purpose and offers different combinations of images, text and layouts. In the A+ Content Manager you have a total of 17 different modules at your disposal, which you can combine flexibly to design your product page in the best possible way.

Per piece of A+ Content you can embed a maximum of 8 modules in Seller Central and a maximum of 5 modules in Vendor Central, in any order you like. The “Company Logo” module can only be used once, while all other modules can be used multiple times. Choosing and combining the right building blocks plays a decisive role in how effective your A+ Content is.

A+ Content image sizes & specifications

Every A+ Content module has specific image-size requirements. If you don't upload your images in the correct format, Amazon will distort them, crop them or refuse to accept them at all. Here are the most important image sizes for the standard A+ Content modules:

Important A+ Content image sizes

Module typeMinimum sizeRecommended
Banner / Header970 x 300 px1940 x 600 px
Large single image970 x 300 px970 x 600 px
Comparison table150 x 300 px300 x 600 px
3-column module300 x 300 px600 x 600 px
4-column module220 x 220 px440 x 440 px
Company logo600 x 180 px600 x 180 px

Technical requirements

  • File format: JPG or PNG
  • Maximum file size: 3 MB per image
  • Color mode: RGB (no CMYK)
  • Resolution: 72 dpi is sufficient for web display

For the best display across all devices, we recommend always creating images at double the minimum size. That way they stay sharp even on high-resolution (Retina) displays. Don't forget to give every image a meaningful alt text – these are important for Amazon search and for accessibility.

Premium A+ Content modules: advanced building blocks

Premium A+ Content (also called A++) gives you additional, more powerful modules that enable an even more immersive shopping experience. The biggest difference from the standard modules: Premium A+ modules support full page width (1464 px instead of 970 px), video integration and interactive elements.

Exclusive Premium A+ modules

  • 1.
Video module: Embed product videos directly within your A+ Content
  • 2.
Interactive hotspots: Clickable areas on images with pop-up information
  • 3.
Full-width banner: Images spanning the entire page width (1464 px)
  • 4.
Enhanced carousels: Larger image galleries with more design options
  • 5.
Q&A module: Interactive FAQ format with expandable answers

To unlock Premium A+ Content, you need a published Brand Story and at least 15 approved A+ Content projects. Premium A+ modules also allow device-specific content – you can create separate versions for desktop and mobile, which optimizes how everything is displayed across all devices.

Best practices for choosing your A+ Content modules

The right module combination

A proven A+ Content structure begins with an attention-grabbing banner or hero image, followed by feature modules (3- or 4-column) for the most important product benefits. Complement these with an image-text module for more detailed explanations, and finish with a comparison table if you offer multiple product variants.

Recommended module order

  1. 1. Banner/Header: An emotional entry point with a lifestyle image
  2. 2. 3-4 column module: Visualize top features and USPs
  3. 3. Image with text: Detailed product explanation
  4. 4. Technical specifications: Facts for informed buyers
  5. 5. Comparison table: Cross-selling to other products

Avoid common mistakes

Don't use too many text modules back to back – A+ Content thrives on visual communication. Don't duplicate images from the main gallery; instead, use the A+ section for additional, exclusive content. Pay attention to a logical reading flow: the customer should be guided through the most important information from top to bottom.

Be sure to test your modules on mobile devices. Many buyers use the Amazon app, and some modules look different on small screens than they do on desktop. Mobile display is especially critical for comparison tables and multi-column modules.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

How many A+ Content modules can I use?

In Seller Central you can use a maximum of 8 modules per piece of A+ Content; in Vendor Central the maximum is 5 modules. The Company Logo module is limited to a single use, while all other modules can be used multiple times.

Which image sizes do I need for A+ Content?

Image sizes vary depending on the module. Banners require at least 970x300 px (1940x600 px recommended), 3-column modules need 300x300 px per image, and comparison tables need 150x300 px. As a general rule: upload images at double the minimum size for optimal display on Retina screens.

What is the difference between standard and Premium A+ modules?

Premium A+ modules offer advanced features such as video integration, interactive hotspots, full page width (1464 px instead of 970 px) and device-specific content. Premium A+ becomes available once you meet certain criteria (a Brand Story plus 15 approved A+ projects).

Can I change A+ Content modules afterwards?

Yes, you can edit your A+ Content at any time in the A+ Content Manager. Changes have to be reviewed by Amazon again, which usually takes 2-7 business days. During the review, the old content remains visible.

Are there free A+ Content templates?

Amazon itself does not offer templates, but you can combine the modules flexibly in the A+ Content Manager. Many graphic design tools such as Canva or Adobe Express offer templates in the correct Amazon image sizes. Just make sure to use the correct dimensions for each module.
