PPC (Pay-per-Click)

Last updated: January 12, 2025

What is PPC (Pay-per-Click)?

Pay-per-Click (PPC) is an online advertising model in which advertisers pay only when a user clicks on their ad. Unlike impression-based models, costs are incurred only when an actual interaction takes place.

PPC is the dominant billing model in Amazon Advertising for Sponsored Products and Sponsored Brands.

How does PPC advertising work?

With PPC, advertisers bid on keywords or placements. The highest bidder with relevant ads wins the auction. The actual cost per click (CPC) is often lower than the maximum bid.

Budgets and bids can be adjusted flexibly, which gives you full control over costs.

PPC on Amazon

Amazon offers several PPC advertising formats: Sponsored Products for individual items, Sponsored Brands for brand presentation, and in some cases Sponsored Display.

The success of Amazon PPC is measured primarily through ACoS (Advertising Cost of Sales).

Advantages of PPC

  • Cost control: You pay only for clicks.
  • Measurability: Clear performance data.
  • Flexibility: Adjustable at any time.
  • Fast results: Immediate visibility.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
