Amazon Premium A+ Content: Every Module, Spec and Rule in 2026
Premium A+ is now open to Seller Central brand owners. Here is what it adds over Basic A+, the specs for each module, and where it pays off.
Short answer
Amazon Premium A+ Content is the advanced tier of A+ Content that gives brand owners up to 7 modules (Basic: 5), images up to 1,464 px wide (Basic: 970 px), and modules Basic A+ lacks: video, interactive hotspots, image and video carousels, Q&A and larger comparison tables. Amazon cites up to a 20% sales lift for well-implemented Premium A+, against up to 8% for Basic.
Since May 2026, A+ Content Manager shows Seller Central brand owners that Premium A+ is available to all of them, at no cost. You still need Brand Registry and a Professional selling account.

What Premium A+ adds over Basic A+
Amazon describes Premium A+ as Basic A+ plus larger images, videos, interactive hotspots, clickable image or video carousels, Q&A modules and shoppable content. In practice the difference shows up in three places:
- Size. Full-width modules run at 1,464 × 600 px on desktop with a separate 600 × 450 px mobile image, so the page no longer looks like a narrow column of banners.
- Depth. Hotspots, carousels and Q&A let one module hold what would take three Basic modules, which matters with a 7-module limit.
- Motion. Video plays inside A+, next to the explanation it belongs to, instead of only in the image gallery.
Who can use Premium A+ in 2026
The rules have changed three times, which is why guides disagree:
| Period | Who could use Premium A+ |
|---|---|
| Until 2022 | Vendors (first-party) through Amazon, typically as a paid program |
| 2022 to May 2026 | Seller Central brand owners at no cost during a "promotional period", once they had a Brand Story on all ASINs and a minimum number of approved A+ projects in the last 12 months (thresholds varied by marketplace and over time) |
| Since May 2026 | A+ Content Manager shows: "Premium A+ is now available to all Seller Central Brand Owners" |
What has not changed: you need a Professional selling account, a brand enrolled in Brand Registry with the right role on it, and you can only apply A+ to brand-owned ASINs. If the Premium option is missing in your account, check the brand association first.
Premium A+ modules and their specs
Amazon shows the exact specs inside A+ Content Manager next to each module and adjusts them from time to time. These are the commonly documented minimums; "AI Ready" marks modules Amazon's own generator can fill.
| Module | Media (min.) | What it is for |
|---|---|---|
| Premium Full Image (AI Ready) | 1,464 × 600 px; mobile 600 × 450 px | Hero promise, mood, one strong claim |
| Premium Background Image with Text (AI Ready) | 1,464 × 600 px | Benefit statement over a lifestyle scene |
| Premium Hotspots | 1,464 × 600 px | Clickable points on the product: materials, parts, functions |
| Premium Navigation Carousel | 2–5 panels; 1,464 × 600 px, mobile 600 × 450 px | Use cases, variants or steps the shopper can tab through |
| Premium Simple Image Carousel | 1,464 × 600 px per frame | Several scenes without text overload |
| Premium Full Video | MP4 from 960 × 540; preview 1,464 × 600 px; title up to 50, description up to 200 characters | Demo, assembly, the product in motion |
| Premium Video with Text | MP4 from 800 × 600 | One video next to the explanation it proves |
| Premium Video Image Carousel | MP4 from 800 × 600; 2–6 panels | Mixed video and image story |
| Premium Q&A | 2–5 questions, up to 120 characters each | Pre-purchase objections: fit, care, compatibility |
| Premium Comparison Tables | Product images per column | Your own product line, side by side |
| Premium Text (AI Ready) | Body text up to 5,000 characters | Details that do not fit into images |
| Premium Technical Specifications | Text rows | Dimensions, materials, compatibility |
Two practical rules: build the 1,464 × 600 px desktop version and the 600 × 450 px mobile version as separate designs rather than letting one scale down, and keep text inside images to a few large words. Most A+ is seen on a phone.
When Premium A+ is worth it
With no fee, the question is where the extra production effort pays back. Premium tends to earn it when:
- The ASIN carries a large share of revenue or ad spend, so a few points of conversion are real money.
- The product needs explaining: setup, mechanism, materials or a choice between sizes and strengths.
- Returns or customer questions show the same misunderstanding again and again; a Q&A or hotspot module can answer it before purchase.
- You sell a product line where a comparison table moves shoppers to the right variant instead of away from your brand.
For slow-moving long-tail ASINs, Basic A+ with five clear modules is usually enough. Test either way: Manage Your Experiments can split-test two A+ versions on the same ASIN (see our A/B testing guide).
Quality scores and alt text: two 2026 changes to plan for
Content Quality Analysis. Since February 2026 Amazon has been scoring A+ pages weekly in a beta inside A+ Content Manager, looking at readability, completeness of information, visual presentation and conversion. Premium modules make it easier to cover the information shoppers need, but a page full of mood images with little information can still be flagged.
Alt text. Amazon now writes A+ image alt text with AI; sellers can no longer enter their own. Anything a shopper (or Rufus) needs to know has to be visible as text in the module or in the image, not hidden in metadata.
Premium A+ checklist
- One promise in the hero module, readable on a phone in two seconds.
- Every module answers a real buyer question taken from reviews, questions or returns.
- Desktop (1,464 × 600 px) and mobile (600 × 450 px) images designed separately.
- At most one video module, showing what photos cannot.
- A comparison table of your own products, never a competitor's.
- No prices, promotions, guarantees, unverifiable claims, links or contact details.
- Plan up to seven business days for review; check Content Quality Analysis after publishing.

Premium A+ Content: FAQ
What is Premium A+ Content on Amazon?
Amazon Premium A+ Content is the advanced tier of A+ Content. It allows up to 7 modules instead of 5, images up to 1,464 px wide instead of 970 px, and modules Basic A+ does not have: video, interactive hotspots, image and video carousels, Q&A and larger comparison tables.
Who is eligible for Premium A+ in 2026?
Premium A+ is available to all Seller Central brand owners since May 2026, according to the notice in A+ Content Manager. Before that, brands needed a Brand Story on all ASINs and a minimum number of approved A+ projects in the previous 12 months. You still need a Professional selling account and Brand Registry.
Does Premium A+ cost money?
No. Premium A+ costs nothing for Seller Central brand owners. Amazon previously said that if it ever introduces a fee, brand owners would have to opt in. The real cost is production: wider images, video and more modules take more design work.
How many modules does Premium A+ allow?
Premium A+ allows up to 7 modules per A+ page, compared with 5 for Basic A+. You can mix Premium and Standard modules on a Premium page.
What are the Premium A+ video requirements?
The Premium A+ Full Video module takes an MP4 at a minimum of 960 × 540 pixels plus a 1,464 × 600 preview image. The Premium Video with Text and Video Image Carousel modules accept MP4 from 800 × 600. Upload the highest resolution you have; the exact limits are shown in A+ Content Manager.
Is Premium A+ worth it over Basic A+?
For hero products, usually yes: Amazon cites up to 20% sales lift for well-implemented Premium A+ against up to 8% for Basic. For long-tail products with little traffic, Basic A+ often gives most of the benefit for less production work.
