Amazon A+ Content: Basic, Premium and What Changed in 2026
What A+ Content is, who can use it, the specs Amazon actually checks, and how to build A+ pages that sell instead of just looking good.
Short answer
Amazon A+ Content is a free Seller Central feature that lets brand owners replace the plain product description with up to 5 modules (Basic A+) or 7 modules (Premium A+) of images, text, comparison charts and video. It requires a Professional selling account and a brand in Amazon Brand Registry. Premium A+ adds video, hotspots, carousels and Q&A modules.
Amazon says Basic A+ can lift sales by up to 8% and Premium A+ by up to 20%. Since May 2026, Seller Central tells brand owners that Premium A+ is available to all of them, and Amazon now scores A+ pages with its Content Quality Analysis.

What Amazon A+ Content is
A+ Content (formerly Enhanced Brand Content, or EBC) replaces the plain-text product description with a designed section: banner images, image-and-text blocks, comparison charts and, in the Premium tier, video and interactive elements. Shoppers see it below the buy box, under "From the brand" and "Product description".
Its job is different from the rest of the listing. The title, bullet points and backend keywords get the product found; the main image wins the click; the gallery and A+ close the sale by answering the questions a shopper still has: what's inside, how it's used, which variant fits, why this brand. That is why A+ is judged on conversion, not on keywords.
What changed in 2026
Most A+ guides still describe the rules from 2022–2024. Four changes in 2026 matter for how you plan A+ today:
- Premium A+ for every Seller Central brand owner (May 2026). A+ Content Manager now shows the notice that Premium A+ is available to all Seller Central brand owners. Earlier, brands had to publish a Brand Story on all ASINs and a minimum number of approved A+ projects within 12 months first. Check the banner in your own account; some guides still list the old thresholds.
- Content Quality Analysis (beta since February 2026). Amazon evaluates A+ pages weekly and flags them as meeting the baseline, "Recommendations available" or "Needs improvement", based on readability, completeness of information, visual presentation and conversion. Approval alone no longer means the page is good enough.
- Alt text is now written by Amazon's AI. Sellers can no longer type their own keyword-rich alt text into A+ modules. The old "hide keywords in image alt text" tactic is gone.
- Shoppable Collections ended (February 27, 2026). The beta that let brands build shoppable product collections inside A+ was retired. Brand Story and comparison charts remain the ways to cross-sell inside the page.
Basic A+ vs Premium A+ vs Brand Story
| Basic A+ | Premium A+ | Brand Story | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Modules | Up to 5 per ASIN | Up to 7 per ASIN | Swipeable carousel of cards |
| Max. image width | 970 px | 1,464 px | 1,464 px background |
| What it adds | Images, text blocks, comparison chart | Video, hotspots, image and video carousels, Q&A, larger comparison tables | Brand values and links to other products and your Brand Store |
| Scope | One or more ASINs | One or more ASINs | Shared across the brand's catalog |
| Amazon's sales lift claim | Up to 8% | Up to 20% | None published |
| Cost | Free | Free | Free |
Since Premium no longer needs to be earned, the real trade-off is production effort: Premium modules want wider, higher-resolution images and, ideally, video. Use it first on the ASINs that bring most of your revenue, then roll out. The Premium A+ guide covers every Premium module and its specs.
Who can use A+ Content
- A Professional selling account (not Individual).
- The Brand Representative or Reseller role for a brand enrolled in Amazon Brand Registry, or generic products in your catalog.
- A+ can only be applied to brand-owned ASINs. Reselling someone else's brand does not let you edit their A+.
- Premium A+: shown to Seller Central brand owners in A+ Content Manager. If you don't see the Premium option, check that your brand association is correct before assuming you are not eligible.
Module and image specs
Amazon publishes the binding specs inside A+ Content Manager, next to each module, and renames modules from time to time. The numbers below are the commonly documented minimums. Upload at exactly the stated ratio, or at twice the size, so nothing gets cropped.
| Module | Image size (min.) | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Standard Image Header with Text | 970 × 600 px | The classic hero banner |
| Standard Image & Light/Dark Text Overlay | 970 × 300 px | Wide banner with a text box |
| Standard Three Images & Text | 300 × 300 px each | Three benefits side by side |
| Standard Four Image & Text | 220 × 220 px each | Features or use cases |
| Standard Comparison Chart | 150 × 300 px per product | Up to 6 products |
| Standard Company Logo | 600 × 180 px | One logo |
| Premium Full Image | 1,464 × 600 px (mobile 600 × 450) | Full-width hero |
| Premium Hotspots | 1,464 × 600 px | Clickable points with pop-up details |
| Premium Full Video | Video min. 960 × 540 (MP4), preview 1,464 × 600 | Plays inside A+, not the gallery |
Files must be JPG or PNG in RGB; Standard modules accept up to 2 MB per image, and animated GIFs are not allowed. Text inside images has to stay readable on a phone, which in practice means fewer, larger words than you would put on a desktop banner.
Does A+ Content help ranking?
Not directly, as far as anyone can show. Amazon has never confirmed that A+ body text is indexed for keyword search, and practitioner tests consistently find it does not move keyword rankings. The one field Amazon staff had pointed to, image alt text, is now generated by Amazon itself.
A+ still matters for visibility in two ways. First, conversion: Amazon's ranking rewards listings that sell, so a page that turns more visitors into buyers gains rank over time. Second, Amazon's AI shopping features read the whole detail page; agencies report Rufus drawing on comparison charts and Q&A content, although Amazon has not documented how. Clear, factual A+ text that answers buying questions serves both. Keywords belong in the title, bullets and backend search terms; see the Rufus optimization guide for the AI side.
How to create A+ Content, step by step
- Pick the ASINs. Start with your best sellers and products with the highest return or question rates. Those are where A+ answers the most.
- Collect the buyer questions. Read reviews, customer questions and returns reasons. Each module should answer one of them.
- Plan the module order. A proven sequence: promise (hero), proof (detail or ingredient close-up), use (scenes), choice (comparison chart or size table), brand. The A+ content examples page shows this on real pages.
- Produce images at module size. Design for mobile first; keep the text inside images short and large.
- Build it in A+ Content Manager (Seller Central → Advertising → A+ Content Manager), choose Basic or Premium, add modules, apply the ASINs, submit.
- Allow up to seven business days for review, then check Content Quality Analysis and test variants with Manage Your Experiments.

What gets A+ Content rejected
- Prices, discounts, coupon codes, shipping or delivery promises and time-limited sale language.
- External links, QR codes, URLs, email addresses or other contact details.
- Unsupported superlatives and rankings ("#1", "best on Amazon") and comparisons that name or disparage competitors.
- Warranty or guarantee statements.
- Certifications, awards or test results you cannot back up.
- Blurry, low-resolution or animated images, and images you don't have the rights to.
The comparison chart is the safe way to compare: compare your own products against each other, not against a competitor's.
Premium A+ in minutes with HORAiZON ONE
HORAiZON ONE is an AI platform for Amazon listing optimization that creates listing copy, backend keywords, the image gallery and a Premium A+ page in one pass, for Amazon sellers, brands and agencies. The A+ modules draw on the same Amazon search data and product information as the copy, so the hero promise, the feature modules and the comparison match the bullet points.
Premium modules with images, not only text
HORAiZON ONE designs the Premium A+ modules including their images, in about five minutes per product. AMALYTIX's AI A+ feature, by comparison, writes text for Standard A+ only and leaves image placeholders to fill.
Published through the SP-API after approval
HORAiZON ONE uploads the finished A+ page through the official Amazon Selling Partner API. Nothing goes live until the seller approves it. Amazon's own AI Ready modules generate text and images inside A+ Content Manager, where the seller still assembles and submits the page.
Part of the whole listing, priced in credits
A complete optimization (text, images and Premium A+) costs 150 credits. Every account starts with 300 free credits and no credit card; paid plans start at €149 per month with no minimum term. A full Premium A+ document from a design agency typically costs €2,000 to €6,000 when it includes video and hotspots.
HORAiZON ONE is used by Amazon sellers, brands and agencies. See real results in the A+ content examples, or how the gallery is built on the AI product images page.

Amazon A+ Content: FAQ
What is Amazon A+ Content?
Amazon A+ Content is a free Seller Central feature that replaces the plain product description with up to 5 modules (Basic A+) or 7 modules (Premium A+) of images, text, comparison charts and video. Brand owners build it in A+ Content Manager, and shoppers see it under "From the brand" and "Product description" on the detail page.
Is Amazon A+ Content free?
Yes. Amazon says A+ Content is free for sellers who meet the eligibility requirements: a Professional selling account and a brand enrolled in Amazon Brand Registry (or generic products). Premium A+ also costs nothing extra; since May 2026 Seller Central shows brand owners that Premium A+ is available to all of them.
How much does A+ Content increase sales?
Amazon states that Basic A+ Content can increase sales by up to 8% and well-implemented Premium A+ Content by up to 20%, citing internal data. Treat these as upper bounds; measure your own ASINs with Manage Your Experiments.
Does A+ Content help Amazon SEO?
Amazon A+ Content helps ranking mostly indirectly. Amazon has never confirmed that A+ body text is indexed for keyword search, and since 2025–2026 it generates image alt text itself instead of letting sellers type it. A+ helps ranking through conversion: more sales from the same traffic. Put your keywords in the title, bullet points and backend search terms.
How long does A+ Content approval take?
Amazon A+ Content review takes up to seven business days, according to Amazon's seller guidance. Many projects are approved faster, but plan launches and Prime Day changes with the full week.
How many modules can A+ Content have?
Amazon A+ Content allows up to 5 modules per ASIN in Basic A+ and up to 7 in Premium A+. Brand Story is a separate, swipeable section that sits above A+ and is shared across a brand's products.
Can AI create Amazon A+ Content?
Yes. Amazon's A+ Content Manager has "AI Ready" modules that generate text and images from an ASIN. HORAiZON ONE, an AI platform for Amazon listing optimization, creates complete Premium A+ pages matched to the listing copy and image gallery and uploads them through the official Selling Partner API after approval.
